Universities in Malaysia

There are many categories of universities in Malaysia these days. The latest category is autonomous universities, in addition to the research, full fledged and niche universities. An autonomous university is given freedom to find their own money and the money they generate can be used to get the best brains to come to their university. One vice chancellor of this autonomous university recently said that his university would venture into property in order to generate funds. To me, this is not a good move as universities should not go into property business because the area is not universities forte in the first place.
