We are the average of the people with whom we spend our time most

Whom we spend out time or hang out most with will shape our character and thinking. This is the law of regression; we tend to move towards the mean. Hence, be careful whom we spend our time most with. These people include our spouse as well. While we do not get to choose who our parents are, we can choose our parents in law. Hence, it is very important to choose the right spouse because not only we will spend our life with them but also our character and thinking will be the average of ours and theirs. Like a saying, "birds of the same feather flock together". It is always better if we can people who are better than us with whom we can spend most of our time. Nevertheless, if we observe, successful people do not have many friends to hang out and hence they are being shielded from moving towards the average.
