We tend to downplay the importance of listening. We tend to jump the gun even before the person at the other end finishes talking or has clarified himself or herself. Sometimes, the person at the other end just needs us to lend our ears and they are not interested in listening to us. Bear in mind, while we are talking, we use less of our brain. That is why we observed that people who keep talking non-stop, their idea becomes less and less useful and they make more mistakes too. So, listen more and talk less.
